On July 24, Ambassador Zhao Xing, together with Acting Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum Hidayatullah Badri, Acting Minister of Information and Culture Khairullah Khairkhwa, Governor of Logar Province Shaikh Zia Rahman Madani and other officials of Afghanistan, attended the Commencement Ceremony of Access Road Construction Project of Mes Aynak Copper Mine Project in Logar Province, Afghanistan. 

Zhao Xing congratulated the commencement of the Access Road Construction Project of Mes Aynak Copper Mine Project undertaken by MCC-JCL Aynak Minerals Compnay Ltd, and said that it marks a key step forward for the Mes Aynak Copper Mine Project. The Chinese side is willing to work with Afghan side to smoothly promote the exploitation of Afghan mineral resources while ensuring effective protection of cultural relics, so as to make this project a model of investment cooperation between China and Afghanistan.

Baradar and other Afghan officials said that Mes Aynak Copper Mine Project is of great significance to promoting post-war reconstruction in Afghanistan and improving people's livelihood. They wished that the Access Road Construction Project will be implemented smoothly, laying a solid foundation for the full launch of the Aynak Copper Mine Project. The Afghan side will do its utmost to provide security and convenience for the Chinese company.

Ambassador Zhao Xing, together with other guests attending the ceremony, jointly cut the ribbon for the commencement of the Project.
