On August 16th, the 7th China-South Asia Expo and the 27th China (Kunming) Import & Export Fair opened in Kunming, Yunnan. H.E. Maulawi Abdul Kabir, Deputy Prime Minister of Afghanistan delivered a Video Speech at the Opening Ceremony.

In his speech, H.E. Kabir said that as a close neighbor of Afghanistan, China has always insisted on Good-neighborliness and friendship policy, and stood by the Afghan people. China is a reliable political and business partner of Afghanistan, as well as a true friend of the Afghan people. Since the political change of Afghanistan, the political, economic and business cooperation between the two countries has been further strengthened. The Afghanistan Government supports One China policy, and expresses its gratitude towards to China for China’s support for Afghanistan’s economic projects and their humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.

As H.E. Kabir pointed out, Afghanistan supports the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), and is ready to carry out practical cooperation in this regards and join the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. Afghanistan also expects to export high-quality organic agricultural products such as pine nuts, almonds, and pomegranates to China, to further promote the economic and trade relations between the two countries.

On August 17th, the 4th China-South Asia Cooperation Forum opened in Kunming, Yunnan. Dr. Zhao Haihan, Chargé d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Afghanistan, attended the event online.
