On  December 1, Ambassador Zhao Xing attended the signing ceremony for the  cooperation agreement on the Baghdara Hydropower Project for the Aynak  Copper Mine. Acting Minister of Energy and Water Mullah Abdul Latif  Mansoor, Deputy Minister of Mines and Petroleum Ayoubi attended the  ceremony.

Ambassador Zhao Xing  stressed that the Aynak Copper Mine Project is a flagship project of  China-Afghan cooperation, it is hoped that both sides work together to  ensure the comprehensive launch of the project at an early date so as to  achieve mutual benefits, support Afghanistan’s reconstruction, and  improve the well-being of its people.

The  Afghan side expressed anticipation for the smooth progress of the  Baghdara Hydropower Project for the purpose of laying a strong  foundation for the full-scale launch of the Aynak Copper Mine Project.  Afghanistan is committed to deepen cooperation with China in fields of  power, mining and beyond.
