Ambassador Zhao Xing Attends Award Ceremony for the “Chinese Ambassador Scholarship”

On October 29th, the Chinese Embassy in Afghanistan held an award ceremony for the “Chinese Ambassador Scholarship” at the Confucius Institute of Kabul University. Ambassador Zhao Xing, Deputy Minister for Student Affairs of the Ministry of Higher Education Mawlavi Abdullah Saihan, Kabul University Chancellor Aziz, and more than 100 representatives of teachers and students from Kabul University attended the event.

Ambassador Zhao Xing presented scholarships and honorary certificates to the award-winning students, and encouraged them to study diligently to improve their abilities, and contribute to the cause of China-Afghan friendship. Zhao stressed China is ready to work with Afghanistan to carry forward the traditional friendship, deepen cooperation in the field of education and other areas, and cultivate more outstanding talents for Afghanistan’s post-war reconstruction and development.

The Afghan side expressed sincere gratitude to China for its long-term selfless support to Afghanistan’s education sector, and stated willingness to further deepen cooperation in education and other fields, enhance exchanges between teachers and students, and also strengthen people-to-people ties of the two countries. The award-winning students also expressed heartfelt thanks, saying they will cherish their time, study hard, and strive for excellence, so as to contribute to national development in the future and become firm promoters of China-Afghan friendship.
