On July 29, Ambassador Zhao Xing met with Minister Najibullah Hayat Haqqani of Urban Development and Housing in Kabul.

Ambassador Zhao stated that China and Afghanistan are friendly neighbors. China stands ready to strengthen cooperation with Afghanistan in such areas as economic exchanges and infrastructure development, so as to advance China-Afghanistan relations with continuous progress.

Minister Najibullah expressed appreciation for China's long-standing support and assistance to Afghanistan. He said that the Afghan side counts on the Chinese side for sustained and in-depth cooperation in the areas of urban development and housing construction. The Afghan side will do whatever it takes to ensure the safety and security of the Chinese projects and personnel in Afghanistan.
